SHEFFIELD BROTHERS SENTENCED FOR EXPLOITING TEEN GIRL IN CHILD PROSTITUTION
Three brothers who compelled a 15-year-old girl to engage in sex work with men on as many as 40 occasions have been sentenced to prison.Christopher, Shane, and Matthew Whiteley, residents of Hackenthorpe, Sheffield, received sentences of 15, eight, and seven years respectively.
The brothers were found guilty of conspiracy to cause or incite child prostitution after a trial held at Sheffield Crown Court.
Christopher Whiteley was additionally convicted of sex offenses against other victims.
The case also involved Amanda Spencer, an associate of the brothers, who was convicted of four child prostitution offenses and received a three-year sentence.
Spencer’s sentence will run consecutively with a previous 12-year sentence from 2014 for similar crimes.
The jury heard that the 15-year-old victim was given drugs and alcohol before being forced into sex acts, often in the red light district of Sheffield and at various properties, with charges typically around £50 per session, with the victim estimating that around 30 to 40 such incidents occurred.
Prosecutor Peter Hampton detailed that the girl was taken to secluded areas to be exploited, and other victims were similarly abused after meeting the defendants at Castle Market in Sheffield.
Spencer took one victim to up to 50 properties and forced her to have sex with men such as Bapir for money.
The judge condemned the defendants, stating, "You succumbed to your greed for sexual satisfaction and financial gain.
I have never in my professional life witnessed such broken humanity." The convictions include Christopher Whiteley, 23, guilty of multiple counts of rape, child prostitution, sexual assault under 13, and theft; Shane Whiteley, 30, guilty of a child prostitution offense; Matthew Whiteley, 25, guilty of a child prostitution offense; Spencer, 26, guilty of four child prostitution offenses; and Taleb Bapir, 39, guilty of rape.
The judge highlighted the cruelty and exploitation of vulnerable young girls involved in this case.
