CHRISTOPHER TOCK FROM ABBEY HULTON JAILED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST YOUNG GIRLS IN STOKE-ON-TRENT

In a case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Abbey Hulton, Christopher Tock, a 34-year-old man, has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison for a series of serious sexual offenses involving young girls. The offences, which spanned over a decade, were detailed during a hearing at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, revealing a disturbing pattern of abuse that has left a lasting impact on the victims and their families.

Prosecutor John Evans outlined the gravity of the case, stating that the first victim, who was still attending school at the time, was subjected to indecent assault by Tock. According to Mr. Evans, Tock had put his hand inside the waistband of her trousers, an act that the girl immediately recognized as inappropriate, prompting her to pull away. Despite this initial incident, Tock continued his abusive behavior, assaulting her on multiple occasions shortly thereafter. The victim, however, did not come forward to report the abuse until the year of the court proceedings, highlighting the often-hidden nature of such crimes.

Further details emerged during the trial, including Tock’s arrest on July 4, which was initially related to allegations of possessing indecent images of children. However, the prosecution chose not to pursue charges concerning this matter. During police interviews, Tock admitted to being sexually attracted to young girls and confessed to sexually abusing one of his victims on four separate occasions. Additionally, he was involved in inciting a third child to engage in sexual activity, although that girl refused to participate.

In court, Tock pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including four counts of sexual assault of a child, two counts of indecent assault of a girl under 13, and inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity. His solicitor, Anis Ali, acknowledged that Tock, who resides on Elmsmere Road in Abbey Hulton, has no prior criminal record and is married with a son. Mr. Ali expressed concern over Tock’s continued interest in young females, emphasizing that this was a matter of public concern. He also noted that there was no physical harm inflicted on the victims and highlighted Tock’s otherwise hard-working nature, as well as his desire to seek help and change his ways.

Judge Paul Glenn delivered the sentence, emphasizing the seriousness of Tock’s actions. He imposed a prison term of four and a half years and placed Tock under a sexual offences prevention order. This order restricts him from living in the same household as anyone under 16 without parental and social services approval, and from using the internet unless his device stores usage history, which must be accessible to police upon request. Furthermore, Tock was ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely.

Judge Glenn addressed Tock directly, stating, “You are a high risk of serious harm to children. These were premeditated offences, committed for your own sexual gratification. You are plainly attracted to young girls.” The case underscores the importance of vigilance and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to protect vulnerable children from predators like Christopher Tock in the Abbey Hulton and Stoke-on-Trent communities.
