CHRISTOPHER SCOTT FROM STRATFORD-ON-AVON JAILED FOR STALKING AND ASSAULT IN WARWICKSHIRE CHURCHYARD

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Christopher Scott, a 39-year-old resident of Alcester Road in Stratford-on-Avon, has been sentenced to six years in prison for his heinous actions involving a young girl in Warwickshire. According to court proceedings, Scott was found guilty of unlawfully imprisoning and indecently assaulting a nine-year-old girl whose family resides in the Stockton area. The incident took place during the Easter holidays in April of this year, a period when many families and children are out enjoying the spring break. The young girl was out for a walk in her local village when she encountered Scott near a churchyard.

Details of the attack reveal that Scott approached the girl as she was passing by the church graveyard. He then grabbed her hand and forcibly pulled her towards a patch of nettles, attempting to restrain her. In a further attempt to silence her, Scott took out some adhesive tape and placed it over her mouth. Despite his efforts, the girl managed to scream for help, alerting nearby witnesses to the distress.

As the girl continued to scream, two women walking nearby heard her cries and approached the scene. Recognizing the danger, Scott fled the area in a van, leaving the young girl behind. The women quickly noted down the registration number of the vehicle and reported it to the police, which eventually led to Scott's arrest.

During the sentencing at Warwick Crown Court, Judge James Pyke addressed Scott directly, emphasizing the gravity of his actions. He stated, “It is not hard to imagine the sheer terror your victim must have felt. Your actions can only be described as sinister in the extreme.” The judge’s remarks underscore the malicious intent and the traumatic impact of the assault on the young girl.
