CHRISTOPHER MASON SENTENCED IN SOUTH SHIELDS FOR MULTIPLE RAPE AND ASSAULT OFFENSES

A man identified as Christopher Mason, aged 36 and residing on Russell Avenue in South Shields, has been handed a significant prison sentence after being found guilty of a series of serious criminal acts. Mason's conviction followed a rigorous six-day trial at Newcastle Crown Court, where the court meticulously examined the evidence against him. The jury and judge determined that Mason was responsible for committing a total of ten criminal offenses, which included three counts of rape, two counts of intentional strangulation, two counts of sexual assault, as well as additional charges of assault and criminal damage.

It was established that he deliberately strangled a woman until she was on the verge of losing consciousness, an act that demonstrated a high level of violence and intent to harm.
