CHRISTOPHER LEE AND NIGEL SCOTT'S HORRIFIC CHILD ABUSE IN DONCASTER AND WAKEFIELD
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community, Christopher Lee of The Oval, Dunscroft, Doncaster, and Nigel Scott of Norman Pace, Horbury, Wakefield, were sentenced to a combined total of 12 years in prison following their involvement in heinous child abuse crimes.The Leeds Crown Court heard harrowing details of their offences, which included conspiracy to sexually assault a young boy and the distribution of indecent images of children.
Christopher Lee, aged 39, who was diagnosed HIV positive last November, was sentenced to five years in prison.
The court was told that Lee was aware of his HIV status at the time of the offences, which added a further layer of gravity to his actions.
Judge James Spencer QC described one particular incident involving the young victim as “as bad a case as one can imagine,” emphasizing the severity and depravity of the acts committed.
Alongside Lee, Nigel Scott, aged 35, received a seven-year sentence.
Scott admitted to inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, as well as possessing and distributing a significant number of indecent images of children—specifically, 3,019 images and 45 indecent movies.
The court also heard that Scott had been involved in creating and sharing explicit material, which was uncovered during police investigations.
Police raids conducted in May at Scott’s residence uncovered a disturbing collection of items, including four laptops, a mobile phone, a camera, and various sex toys such as vibrators, bondage equipment, and a blow-up doll.
Further examination of Scott’s devices revealed a series of incriminating text messages exchanged with Lee, in which the two men discussed plans and acts of child sex abuse.
The investigation also uncovered that Scott was unaware of Lee’s HIV-positive status at the time of their crimes.
Authorities confirmed that the communication between Lee and Scott was explicit and involved discussions about abusing children, which they documented through their electronic correspondence.
The police’s findings included graphic evidence of their depraved interests and plans, which contributed to the severity of their sentences.
Prosecutor Jon Gregg highlighted the disturbing nature of the case, emphasizing the extent of the offenders’ sexual depravity.
The court was informed that the abuse inflicted on the young boy was particularly egregious, with the judge describing the case as “ghastly” and “one of the worst” he had encountered.
Judge Spencer concluded by condemning both men, stating, “You share a depraved sexual interest,” and adding that “that boy became a victim of your sexual depravity.” The case has left a lasting impact on the community, raising serious concerns about child safety and the dangers posed by individuals with such malicious intent.
