PULHAM PENSIONER USED WOMAN’S INTERNET TO VIEW CHILD ABUSE
Police raided the home of a woman after a pensioner used her internet connection to view hundreds of thousands of explicit images of children.Christopher Hunt, 74, admitted to having more than 100,000 photos and videos depicting children as young as four in pain and distress.
Analysis of seized devices also found extreme pornographic footage featuring threats of killing.
Hunt was found with over 350,000 images in total and pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children, one of possessing extreme porn, and one of possessing a prohibited image of a child.
The images included 734 category A, 366 category B, and 101,410 category C.
A further 250,000 indicative images were found that did not pass the threshold for prosecution.
His viewing habits spanned from 2016 until his arrest in May 2024.
The images showed children aged up to 16, some in clear pain and distress.
District Judge Matthew Bone committed Hunt's sentencing to Norwich Crown Court on May 18, citing the sheer number of images and the length of offending.
Hunt was granted bail with conditions restricting his internet use to devices that retain browsing history for police inspection.
He was also working with the Stop It sex offenders programme to address his behaviour.
