PARTINGTON MAN GUILTY OF RAPE AFTER RETRIAL
A man aged 43 from Greater Manchester, Christopher Hudson, has been convicted once more of sexual assaulting a woman, following a retrial. His original conviction from 2008 was maintained, and after the new trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, he received a prison sentence of four years.
His initial sentence was six years, from which he had already served time, leading to a reduced term.
He is now also required to be on the Sex Offenders' Register for life.
Police confirmed that on May 20, 2007, Hudson was staying at a friend’s residence in Stretford when he carried out the assault.
He entered the victim’s bedroom, made an attempt to kiss her, was told to leave, but later returned and committed the rape.
DNA evidence matched samples found on the now 24-year-old victim.
Detective Constable Sandra Callender commented on the case, emphasizing the victim’s trauma and her bravery in testifying again to secure Hudson’s imprisonment.
