FORMER ESSEX POLICE SPECIAL RESIGNS AFTER SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGE

A former police special superintendent has appeared in court charged with sexual assault.

Christopher Gliddon, aged 28 from Great Bardfield near Braintree in Essex, was presented at Ipswich Magistrates' Court.

The court was told that Mr.

Gliddon is accused of one count of sexual assault, alleged to have occurred between January 2019 and July 2021.

He did not enter a plea and was granted conditional bail.

The case has been sent to Ipswich Crown Court, where Mr.

Gliddon is scheduled to appear at the end of this month.

Essex Police announced that he resigned from his position as a special officer in April of the previous year.
