'DANGEROUS OFFENDER' JAILED FOR RAPING YOUNG BOY
A man convicted of multiple sexual offenses, including the sexual assault of a minor boy, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison.Christopher Cullen, aged 46 and from Horncastle, was found guilty of nine counts related to sexual misconduct, including raping a child under the age of 13, after a trial held in September.
During proceedings at Lincoln Crown Court, it was revealed that Cullen, residing at Bells Yard Close, had committed several sexual assaults against his victim on various occasions.
He was also mandated to register as a sex offender for life as part of his sentence.
The victim provided an impact statement, describing severe ongoing struggles with addiction since the incidents.
According to court testimony, the abuse resulted in weight loss, suicide attempts, and significant difficulties in personal relationships.
The victim expressed that he felt incapable of moving forward with his life after the assaults.
The court also noted that Cullen had previous convictions, including a 2012 conviction for engaging in sexual activity with a girl under the age of 16.
Judge Simon King labeled Cullen a "dangerous offender" and stated during sentencing, "The truth is, your victim's life will never fully recover from what you did to him."
