Birch, formerly residing in Gosport, was on the run for over three years following serious allegations against him, which included heinous crimes involving his own family members.

Birch’s history of disturbing behavior extended beyond the recent allegations. In the past, he gained notoriety as the ‘Gosport Flasher’ due to his pattern of exposing himself to schoolgirls. This pattern of indecent exposure led to a police undercover operation involving eight plain-clothes officers patrolling the area in an effort to catch him in the act.

His criminal record includes a conviction in April 2005 for indecent exposure and outraging public decency. Birch was sentenced to 180 hours of community service after being found guilty of three counts of indecent exposure and three counts of outraging public decency, which occurred between April 1 and June 16, 2004. During police interviews, Birch initially claimed that his actions were merely urination, attempting to downplay the severity of his offenses.

A European arrest warrant had been issued earlier this year, facilitating his extradition from Spain, where he had been hiding.
