CHRISTIAN ABU SHOCKS WINDEMERE AND MANCHESTER WITH BIZARRE FLIGHT AND STREET OFFENSES

In a disturbing series of incidents, Christian Abu, a 26-year-old known resident of Schaer – Windermere, has been involved in highly inappropriate and criminal behavior both on a commercial flight and in public spaces within the Windermere area. These events have garnered significant attention from law enforcement and the local community, highlighting a pattern of troubling conduct that has led to serious legal consequences.

In November of the previous year, Abu-Schaer was aboard a flight traveling from Alicante to Manchester Airport. During this journey, he engaged in behavior described by witnesses and authorities as 'bizarre and disgusting.' According to court reports, Abu-Schaer was observed standing in a queue for the airplane's restroom when he turned to face an eight-year-old girl and her mother, who was asleep at the time. The man proceeded to expose himself and touch his genitals in full view of the young girl, an act that shocked fellow passengers and was witnessed by a passenger who promptly alerted the flight crew.

The situation escalated when Abu-Schaer later sexually assaulted a member of the cabin crew by grabbing her bottom. The young girl later confided in her mother about what she had seen, describing the man's actions. The captain of the aircraft was immediately informed, and ground authorities were notified. As the plane approached Manchester Airport, police officers were waiting to arrest Abu-Schaer upon landing.

Following his arrest, Abu-Schaer was taken into custody and faced multiple charges, including sexual assault, two counts of indecent exposure, and possession of controlled substances. During the court proceedings at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, a judge condemned his actions, labeling him a sexual deviant and stating that he 'clearly has a problem.' The judge emphasized that Abu-Schaer’s behavior was not only bizarre but also indicative of a serious issue that needed addressing.

It was revealed that at the time of the November incident, Abu-Schaer was already on police bail for a prior offense in the Lake District, where he had been living and working in a hotel kitchen. That earlier offense involved him being spotted by a resident through her window shortly after midnight, standing completely naked and pleasuring himself. When police arrived, they found him dressed but still touching himself, which left the witness feeling 'intimidated.' Authorities also discovered Abu-Schaer in possession of cocaine and cannabis during that arrest.

Defense lawyer Peter Malone explained that Abu-Schaer had turned to alcohol and drugs following the death of his father in 2010, attempting to cope with his grief. Despite his remorse, the court found his behavior to be deeply troubling. Abu-Schaer pleaded guilty to all charges at an earlier hearing.

Judge Bernadette Baxter sentenced Abu-Schaer to a three-year community order, which includes participation in a sex offender treatment program. Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for five years. The judge highlighted the seriousness of his offenses, noting that his actions demonstrated a significant problem that required ongoing intervention to protect the public.

In a statement following the case, the mother of the young girl expressed her frustration with the justice system but also relief that Abu-Schaer had finally appeared in court. She remarked, “It’s a poor show from the justice system – but we are glad he has finally appeared in court.”
