In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Chris Paul Clipsham, a 44-year-old bus driver from Whitley, North Yorkshire, was found guilty of sexually assaulting a vulnerable woman. The incident, which took place in the vicinity of York, has brought to light troubling details about how the offender targeted his victim.According to court reports, Clipsham exploited a bus pass belonging to the woman, who was in a vulnerable state, to carry out his predatory actions. The case was brought before York Magistrates' Court, where the defendant admitted to three separate charges of sexual assault. The police investigation revealed that Clipsham had used social media platforms to locate the victim’s identity. He then engaged with her online, befriending her through social media channels before orchestrating the assault.
On the night of the attack, Clipsham picked up the woman in his vehicle, driving her to a secluded area away from public view. It was there that he committed the sexual assault, an act that has left the victim feeling unsafe and deeply traumatized. The court also mandated that he undertake rehabilitation programs and complete 150 hours of unpaid community work as part of his sentence.
