A woman has pleaded guilty to bombarding her ex-partner and his mother with phone calls and Facebook messages.Proudfoot, of St Wilfrids Walk, Bishop Auckland, pleaded guilty to harassment without violence, stalking, resisting arrest, assaulting an emergency worker and criminal damage.
She struggled to contain her emotions during her court appearance at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court charged with stalking.
The court warned her she would be detained in the cells if she did not calm down.
District Judge Stephen Hood told her: “It is in your best interests to work with the Probation Service and let them know what was going on at the time of the offences and what is going on in your life now.” Prosecutor Sara Kemp stated Proudfoot spat in the face of a police officer when she was being arrested after she bombarded her previous partner with phone calls and Facebook messages.
The defendant will return to court on October 16 for sentencing, allowing time for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
