ROY RODRIGUEZ HORRIBLY MUTILATED BY HOUSTON EMBALMER AMBER PAIGE LAUDERMILK
In a disturbing incident that has shocked the community in Houston, Texas, Amber Paige Laudermilk, a 34-year-old embalmer employed at Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, is now facing serious allegations of mutilation involving the body of Charles Roy Rodriguez. Rodriguez, a 58-year-old man who had died of natural causes in January, was a registered sex offender with a history dating back to a 2001 sexual assault charge, for which he received ten years of deferred adjudication. The allegations detail a gruesome act carried out by Laudermilk during the preparation of Rodriguez’s body for cremation. Court documents reveal that she used a scalpel to perform a shocking and violent mutilation, specifically targeting Rodriguez’s genital area. It is reported that she castrated him, removing his privates and subsequently placing them in his mouth. This act of mutilation was not done in secret; it was witnessed by two other employees working at the mortuary.
One of the witnesses, a fellow mortuary employee, recounted that Laudermilk stabbed Rodriguez twice in the groin before proceeding with the mutilation. When confronted by the funeral director about her actions, Laudermilk reportedly attempted to cover Rodriguez’s lower body and falsely claimed that he had 'a lot going on with him,' seemingly trying to dismiss or justify her actions.
Rodriguez’s death was officially recorded as natural, but the circumstances surrounding the handling of his body have now raised serious questions and concerns. Harris County Constable Alan Rosen publicly addressed the incident, emphasizing the importance of respecting the dignity of the deceased regardless of their past. Rosen stated, 'No matter what one thinks of his life, the law requires that he be treated with dignity in death.'
He also expressed concern for both the victim and Laudermilk, highlighting the importance of mental health support for the embalmers and funeral staff involved as the legal process moves forward. The case has sparked widespread outrage and calls for a thorough investigation into the conduct of those involved at Memorial Mortuary & Crematory in Houston.
