On January 5, 2015, a disturbing case of animal neglect was uncovered at a modest one-bedroom flat in Wombwell, Barnsley, involving Charlene McDowall and Lawrence Skrzydlo.The RSPCA responded to a distress call from a concerned member of the public who reported that the owners had been away for a week, leaving their numerous animals unattended and in dire conditions.
