NEWCASTLE WOMAN KICKED, PUNCHED AND NIPPED HER VULNERABLE MOTHER THEN THREW WATER OVER HER
A woman left her vulnerable mother petrified by punching, nipping her, throwing water over her, and even causing a small cut with a knife, after assaulting her during a drinking session.
Caroline Aggas was supposed to be caring for her mum when she attacked her after a drinking session.
She pleaded guilty to assault, including kicking, scratching, and punching her mother during a scuffle but claimed she did not deliberately use the knife.
She was sentenced to 13 months suspended for 18 months with a six month drug rehabilitation requirement and a restraining order.
The judge stated this was a violation of family trust and security.
Aggas, 41, of Atkinson Road, Newcastle, was under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time and has been remorseful, with no incidents since.
