CARL BRIGGS AND SHOCKING SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN MIDDLESBROUGH

A man has admitted to committing serious sexual offenses involving a teenage girl in Middlesbrough. Carl Briggs, aged 20, appeared before Teesside Magistrates' Court on a recent Monday to face multiple charges relating to his alleged misconduct.

Briggs, who resides on Essex Street in Middlesbrough, was formally charged with three counts of sexual assault on a female. During the court proceedings, he openly confirmed his identity and entered pleas of guilt to all three allegations.

The court was told that these incidents occurred over a span of several months, specifically between June and December of 2018. The charges detail that Briggs intentionally engaged in inappropriate physical contact with a girl who was just 14 years old at the time. It was alleged that this contact was sexual in nature and was carried out without the girl’s consent. Furthermore, the court noted that Briggs did not have a reasonable belief that the girl was consenting to his actions.

After hearing the case, District Judge Helen Cousins decided to grant Briggs unconditional bail.
