BARROW SEX OFFENDER FINED £800 FOR BREACHING SHPO BY DELETING MESSAGES
A CONVICTED sex offender has been sentenced after he breached the terms of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).Callum McLaughlin, of Laurence Avenue, Barrow, appeared at Preston Crown Court for sentence on January 6.
Court documents shows the 38-year-old breached the order imposed by Preston Crown Court on February 15 by deleting WhatsApp conversations from his mobile phone history without a reasonable excuse.
His Honour Judge Preston fined McLaughlin £800 for the offence and ordered he pay the fine through the magistrates’ court at a rate of £200 per month.
The judge said any failure of monthly payments would result in a prison sentence of 21 days.
