CAITHLIN FITZPATRICK FROM TULLYGALLY IN ARMAGH SENTENCED FOR CRUELTY TO DOG
Caithlin Fitzpatrick, born on July 18, 1995, and residing at 95 Aldervale, Tullygally, Craigavon BT65 5AX, was found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to her pet dog and neglecting its basic welfare needs. The case came to light after a thorough investigation by local authorities concerned with animal welfare.According to reports, a council animal welfare officer discovered the dog in a distressing state within Fitzpatrick’s residence. The animal, a female Jack Russell terrier, was found confined in a room that was heavily contaminated with canine feces and soaked in urine, indicating severe neglect. The environment was deemed unfit for any living creature, and the dog was clearly suffering from malnutrition and dehydration, as no water had been provided for her.
The officer’s findings prompted immediate action. The dog was seized from Fitzpatrick’s property following a veterinary assessment, which confirmed her condition of neglect and starvation. The veterinary report highlighted the extent of her suffering, prompting authorities to take custody of the animal. Subsequently, Fitzpatrick voluntarily signed over ownership of the dog, allowing her to be re-homed into a caring environment.
In court, Fitzpatrick was sentenced to a 12-month probation order, which includes a requirement to pay costs amounting to £340. Additionally, she received a ban from keeping any animals for a period of five years, a restriction that will remain in effect until November 2025. This case underscores the ongoing efforts by local authorities in Armagh to combat animal cruelty and ensure the welfare of vulnerable animals in the community.
