BRYAN PAULY, SCHOOL CARETAKER FROM BOSTON, SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES

In August 2017, Bryan Pauly, a school caretaker from Hospital Lane, Boston, was convicted of multiple sexual offences involving young girls. Pauly was arrested after a teenage girl reported that he had asked to enter the toilet cubicle she was using. She also said that he asked if she had a boyfriend, put his arm around her, and requested a kiss, which she refused.

Following this report, police identified two additional victims. These incidents did not take place at the Boston school where Pauly was employed through an agency. One girl complained that Pauly had grabbed her bottom after asking for a hug, while another reported that he had touched her over clothing, tried to kiss her, and licked her in an intimate area.

During police interviews, Pauly, a father of two, admitted to much of his offending. He pleaded guilty to four charges of sexual assault on a child under 13, one charge of sexual activity with a child, and one charge of attempting to incite a child under 16.

Pauly was sentenced to three years in jail, ordered to register as a sex offender for life, and placed under a sexual harm prevention order. Judge Simon Hirst remarked that there had been some abuse of trust in Pauly’s actions. The 44-year-old was brought before Lincoln Crown Court on August 4 to receive his sentence.
