BRYAN LOCKWOOD FROM LEGSBY NEAR MARKET RASEN JAILED FOR CHILD SEXUAL OFFENSES IN LINCOLNSHIRE
In a case that has shocked the local community, Bryan Lockwood, a 71-year-old resident of Legsby near Market Rasen in Lincolnshire, has been sentenced to prison for serious sexual offenses involving a young boy. The incident, which took place nearly a decade ago, involved Lockwood engaging in inappropriate acts with a child under the age of 13, causing significant emotional trauma to the victim.According to court records, Lockwood admitted to sexually assaulting the young boy on two separate occasions. The court heard that during these incidents, Lockwood touched the boy inappropriately and also coerced the child into touching him. The offenses occurred approximately ten years prior to the sentencing, and the victim, whose identity remains protected for legal reasons, has since been diagnosed with depression, highlighting the lasting impact of the abuse.
Lincoln Crown Court was informed that Lockwood, who resides at South Cottage in Legsby, pleaded guilty to four charges: two counts of sexual assault on a child under 13 and two counts of causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity. His guilty plea was taken into account during sentencing, along with his military service history, which the judge acknowledged.
Judge Simon Hirst, presiding over the case, sentenced Lockwood to four years in prison. Additionally, Lockwood was ordered to be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for ten years, a legal measure designed to restrict his activities and protect the public from potential future harm. He was also mandated to register as a sex offender for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and reporting requirements.
The case has raised concerns within the community about safeguarding children and the importance of vigilance in identifying and preventing abuse. Lockwood’s actions and subsequent conviction serve as a stark reminder of the devastating effects of such crimes and the need for strict legal consequences to protect vulnerable individuals.
