BRYAN CLARKSON FROM DOVER AND GREAT AYTON SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN GUISBOROUGH
In a significant development in the fight against child abuse, Bryan Clarkson, a man with ties to both Dover and Great Ayton, has been convicted and sentenced for a series of heinous child sex offences that occurred over a decade ago.The crimes, which date back to the late 1980s and the 1990s, involved multiple victims and took place in the town of Guisborough.
Clarkson, who had previously denied all allegations, faced serious charges including the rape of a young boy and three counts of indecent assault—two against a boy and one against a young girl.
The allegations painted a disturbing picture of abuse carried out against vulnerable children during that period.
The case was brought to trial at Newcastle Crown Court after initial proceedings at Teesside Magistrates’ Court in March of the previous year.
The case was subsequently transferred to the higher court for a full hearing.
Throughout the trial, Clarkson maintained his innocence, denying all four charges.
However, after a jury deliberation, he was found guilty of the offences.
The court heard evidence that confirmed his guilt, leading to a conviction that marked a significant step in delivering justice for the victims.
Following the verdict, Clarkson, who is now 59 years old, was sentenced to a term of 12 years in prison.

Originally from the Great Ayton area, Clarkson had been residing more recently on Balfour Road in Dover, Kent.
His move from his hometown to Dover did not prevent justice from being served, as the legal process culminated in his conviction and sentencing.
