DUNDEE DOMESTIC ABUSER CALLED EX FROM PRISON AND BLAMED VICTIM FOR HIS VIOLENCE
A domestic abuser who fractured his girlfriend's nose blamed her for turning him into “a monster who hits women.” Bruce Findlay repeatedly called his victim from prison, pressuring her to withdraw a witness statement.His prolonged campaign of violence against his partner lasted nearly three years.
During the court hearing at Perth Sheriff Court, it was revealed that he assaulted her while she was pregnant at their Dundee residence.
He also later confined her in his car as she was driving around the city, preventing her from going out for drinks with a friend.
The 36-year-old bricklayer admitted to committing a pattern of domestic abuse at their home in Dundee between 2022 and 2025.
He also pleaded guilty to attempting to obstruct justice.
After serving a period equivalent to 18 months on remand, Findlay from Dundee was granted bail pending sentencing.
He told the sheriff, “I don’t want to go back to jail.”
