EX-PARAMEDIC CONVICTED OF DECADE-LONG ABUSE AND ABDUCTION SPREE
Bruce Black, aged 56 and now residing on Bute, was convicted of multiple charges involving abuse and abduction of three women over a timeframe spanning two decades. The court proceedings revealed that Black would take his victims from their homes, drive them at high speeds to remote locations across Scotland and even into England, and then subject them to further assault or detention.
During the trial, the jury acquitted him on three charges but found him guilty of nine counts related to assault and abduction, which occurred in places like Skye, Loch Ness, and Dumbarton, from January 1994 to September 2014.
The court adjourned sentencing to July 15 to review a background report and assess eligibility for a domestic abuser program.
Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood emphasized that the delay was procedural, and Black was granted bail pending sentencing.
