BRIDGET GULLEY FROM BARRY FACES CONVICTION OVER DOG NEGLECT IN HOLLAND WAY

In a recent case that has drawn attention within the Barry community, Bridget Patricia Alexander Gulley, born around 1997 and residing on Holland Way, was found guilty of neglecting a dog under her care. The incident involved a black female crossbreed dog named Bella, which suffered from severe health issues due to her owner’s failure to seek proper veterinary treatment.

Gulley admitted to three charges under the Animal Welfare Act, specifically relating to her neglect of Bella. The court heard that she did not provide the necessary medical attention for the dog’s serious skin condition, which included hair loss and an infection that had become severe. The neglect was committed over a period spanning September and October of 2019, a timeframe during which Bella’s health deteriorated significantly.

Details surrounding the case remain limited, with no additional information available at this time. However, the court’s decision reflects the seriousness of the neglect and the importance of animal welfare standards.

As part of her sentencing, Gulley received a 12-month community order, which requires her to adhere to certain conditions and participate in a rehabilitation activity for ten days. Additionally, she was ordered to pay fines, costs, and a surcharge totaling £405. Importantly, she has been banned from keeping any animals for a period of five years, a restriction that will remain in effect until September 2025.

This case underscores the ongoing efforts by authorities in Barry to enforce animal welfare laws and ensure that neglectful owners are held accountable for their actions.
