LONDON OFFENDER JAILED FOR SERIAL RAPE, KIDNAPPING, AND MURDER
A criminal named Brian Sengendo, labeled as a "Devil-obsessed ripper," has been sentenced to life imprisonment after being convicted of multiple heinous crimes. The court found him guilty at the Old Bailey of seven charges, which include the murder of Therasia Gordon, 44, as well as attempted murder, kidnap, and rape.
Sengendo was responsible for the brutal beating and stabbing of Ms.
Gordon before discarding her body in the woods in Enfield on August 3, 2020.
The judge, John Hillen, has sentenced him to a minimum term of 42 years in jail.
During the trial, evidence revealed that Sengendo had a collection of Tarot cards and was recorded on his mobile phone discussing devils and demons.
He was also heard telling one victim, "repeat after me, I'm the Devil's child," while forcing her into a sex act.
Jurors heard that he kidnapped vulnerable women, including sex workers, by tricking them into his van and during the attack, he threatened one woman with a knife, kidnapped, and raped her at knifepoint.
Just hours before killing Ms.
Gordon, Sengendo had kidnapped and stabbed his first victim at least seven times in an attempt to murder her.
His second victim was threatened and kidnapped as well.
Despite his denial and blame on an associate named KT despite DNA and CCTV evidence pointing to him, Sengendo confessed to a psychiatrist that his social isolation, unemployment, and substance abuse contributed to his actions.
The judge highlighted the vulnerability of sex workers, citing data indicating 152 sex workers have been murdered since 1990, emphasizing that they remain and will continue to be vulnerable.
The court's verdict and sentencing reflect the gravity of his crimes and the ongoing issue of violence against sex workers.
