BRIAN LOGIE
Brian Logie attended Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court and admitted to not notifying police of his travel document, which was a requirement of his status on the sex offenders register.
While he pleaded not guilty to the charge of failing to inform police about his plans to go to Bulgaria, the prosecution accepted this plea.
The reason why Logie, who resides on High Street in Dysart, is on the register was not disclosed during the hearing.
Authorities had learned through an anonymous tip that the 49-year-old had left the country last May and verified this information using CCTV footage from Edinburgh Airport.
During the hearing, solicitor Martin McGuire explained that the omission was an oversight.
“It was a complete oversight.
He’s been subject to these notification requirements since 2022.
“He openly disclosed the trip he’d been on; he was very candid with them,” he stated.
Sheriff Robert More imposed a fine of £210, commenting, “You’re going to be subject to the notification requirements for some time yet.” When leaving the courtroom, Logie was heard shouting “yee-ha”.
