BRANDON FOSS FROM HYTHE SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST MINOR IN SOUTHAMPTON
Police authorities have publicly commended the remarkable bravery displayed by a young victim of sexual assault from Hythe, following the recent sentencing of Brandon Foss, a 20-year-old man from Butts Ash Gardens.Foss was sentenced to a term of 20 months in prison after admitting to seven counts of engaging in sexual activities with a minor, with these offenses occurring between May and June of the previous year.
The case was heard at Southampton Crown Court, where it was established that the victim was under the age of 16 at the time of the incidents.
The investigation was led by PC Robert Thomas, who expressed his admiration for the victim’s courage.
He stated, “It took a lot of bravery for the victim to come forward and disclose what had happened to her.
I have nothing but the greatest respect for her resilience, and she supported our investigation fully, remaining confident that justice would be served.” PC Thomas further emphasized the importance of the case, saying, “I am pleased that justice has been achieved and that Foss has been sentenced to serve time in prison.
He exploited her for his own sexual gratification, and now he must reflect on his actions behind bars.” He added that while the trauma may not be erased, he hopes the conviction will help the victim move forward, knowing that Foss can no longer pose a threat to others.
In addition to the sexual assault charges, Foss pleaded guilty to possessing a Class B drug, cannabis.
The court, presided over by Judge Nicholas Rowland, also imposed a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, which restricts Foss’s activities to prevent any future offending.
Furthermore, Foss was ordered to pay court costs amounting to £167.
The case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to protect minors and hold offenders accountable, especially in communities like Hythe and Southampton.
