Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a man has received a prison sentence related to sexual offences committed in Wokingham.
Brandon Brenner, aged 22 and residing on Honey Hill in Wokingham, was handed down a sentence of ten years and eight months in prison at Reading Crown Court on Friday (28/11).
The court proceedings included an eight-day trial that concluded on 11 August, where the jury reached a verdict of guilty by majority on two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
Brenner admitted to three counts of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order but was found not guilty, by a unanimous decision, of two additional rape charges and one sexual assault charge relating to the same victim, occurring between 28 November and 2 December last year.
The prosecution detailed that between 14 and 17 November last year, Brenner gained the trust of a 17-year-old girl by online deception, pretending to be a fictitious female persona with the intent to meet her at a hotel in Wokingham.
He was detained on 5 February and formally charged on 8 February with the offences discussed in court.
