DUNDEE MAN JAILED FOR MONTH-LONG ABUSIVE CAMPAIGN
Bradley Simpson, aged 26, has been involved in a campaign of physical and emotional abuse towards his partner over the course of nearly a month.The assault included removing her Ring doorbell from her residence, attempting to sell her phone at Cash Converters, smashing her laptop, and hitting her with a games console.
The victim, who is the mother of one of Simpson’s three children and had split from him in 2019, managed to escape with help from strangers.
Simpson also made repeated abusive remarks during the incidents, including asking, “why do you make me so angry?” He damaged multiple items in the flat and physically assaulted her, including pushing her onto the stairs, kicking her in the chest, and pouring water over her head.
Further escalation occurred when Simpson threw a PlayStation console at her and chased her outside while pleading for her not to report him to the police.
Simpson was convicted of engaging in abusive conduct and is now imprisoned, having admitted to the offences in Dundee Sheriff Court.
He was sentenced to 24 months in jail and a four-year non-harassment order.
The court highlighted his lack of insight into his behaviour and his history of previous offences, including domestic violence and assault.
