BRADLEY LULHAM: DAWLISH SEX OFFENDER JAILED FOR DOWNLOAD OF CHILD ABUSE MATERIALS

In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Dawlish, a known sex offender, Bradley Lulham, has been sentenced to prison after authorities uncovered his continued involvement in illegal activities related to child exploitation. The incident highlights the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in monitoring individuals with a history of sexual offenses.

Bradley Lulham, aged 30, who is a registered sex offender, was previously convicted of raping two young boys at a caravan park in Dawlish. His original sentence was seven and a half years, a punishment that underscored the severity of his crimes. As part of his legal obligations, Lulham was required to inform police of his current residence and any changes to his living arrangements. However, he failed to comply with these requirements on two separate occasions, raising serious concerns about his adherence to the terms of his registration.

The police investigation took a significant turn when they traced the IP address associated with the download of a child rape video to a property where Lulham was residing. Upon executing a search at this location, authorities discovered that Lulham had been living there for approximately seven months, despite being officially registered as living in Dawlish. The discovery was particularly alarming because it indicated a breach of his registration obligations and suggested ongoing attempts to conceal his whereabouts.

Further examination of Lulham’s phone revealed a disturbing collection of child images and videos, including three movies depicting severe abuse of a boy under the age of five. The total number of indecent images found on his device exceeded 300, illustrating a disturbing pattern of possession and distribution of illegal material. The police’s findings confirmed that Lulham had been actively involved in the possession of highly inappropriate and illegal content.

During his court appearance, Lulham, who was previously known as Daines-Degroot and residing at Devon View in Dawlish, admitted to multiple charges. He pleaded guilty to twice failing to comply with the terms of the sex offenders’ register and to three counts of possessing indecent images of children. The judge, Mr. Justice James Adkin, sentenced him to 16 months in prison, emphasizing the seriousness of his violations.

In his sentencing remarks, Judge Adkin expressed grave concern over the long period of non-compliance and the potential harm posed by Lulham’s actions. He stated, “There was a long period of non-compliance and potential for harm because the police could not track a known sex offender. There were moving images portraying very young children. There is a serious and imminent risk of further image offences and a serious and imminent risk of further contact offences.”

Additional details revealed that Lulham’s breaches of the sex offenders’ register occurred in 2021, when he moved back to his mother’s house in Dawlish without notifying authorities, and again in 2023, when he was living with a vulnerable woman in Brixham and downloaded more abusive images. His actions have raised significant concerns about public safety and the effectiveness of monitoring systems for convicted offenders in the region.
