Witham man jailed for raping and filming unconscious victim

WITHAM MAN JAILED FOR RAPING AND FILMING UNCONSCIOUS VICTIM

A VILE rapist who assaulted an unconscious victim and recorded his crime has been put behind bars after work by specialist detectives.

Billy Parker, 31, has been jailed for ten years following the attack which took place in Witham last April.

He had arranged to meet his victim and after they suffered a medical episode and become unconscious, Parker exploited their vulnerability and assaulted them.

Parker captured the attack on a video on his mobile phone.

When the crime was reported to Essex Police, the victim was supported by specially trained Adult Sexual Assault Investigation Team (ASAIT) who lead the investigation.

Parker, of Mulberry Gardens, Witham, was arrested on April 4 and was subsequently charged.

He admitted rape at Chelmsford Crown Court.

Investigating officer Det Con Carolyn Holland, from ASAIT, said: “The victim in this case has shown a huge amount of courage throughout the investigation and I want to pay tribute to them.

"This incident has had a huge impact on them and their family and is likely to for some time.

"It takes incredible bravery to come forward and report an assault and I hope Parker now being sentenced will help them move forward.

"Billy Parker’s actions were horrific.

Instead of coming to the aid of the victim in a moment of need, he took advantage of their vulnerability for his own sexual gratification.

He is clearly a dangerous individual and I am glad he will now be behind bars for the foreseeable future."
