BENJAMIN SAVAGE'S HORRIFIC CRIME IN MILTON KEYNES: RAPE OF 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In July 2023, a deeply disturbing case unfolded involving Benjamin Savage, a man from Milton Keynes, who was convicted of a heinous crime committed when he was just 16 years old. Savage was found guilty of raping a 15-year-old girl, an incident that has shocked the local community and brought to light the serious issues surrounding sexual assault and the importance of victim support. The victim, who was only 15 at the time, recounted that she was pressured into engaging in sexual activity with Savage despite her clear protests and discomfort. She explained to police that Savage ignored her pleas to stop and continued to push the boundaries, disregarding her distress and the obvious signs that she wanted to end the encounter. Her account detailed a traumatic experience where her consent was repeatedly ignored, and her pleas for him to cease were met with indifference.
It was only years later that the victim found the courage to report the assault. Her decision to come forward was triggered by a personal experience while studying at university, which brought back memories of the assault and underscored the importance of speaking out against such crimes. Her bravery in reporting the incident helped bring justice and accountability to Savage.
On Friday, July 7, at Luton Crown Court, Benjamin Savage was convicted of one count of rape. The court, however, acquitted him of two additional counts of rape and one count of assault by penetration. The verdict marks a significant step in addressing sexual violence and ensuring that perpetrators are held accountable. Savage, who resides on Merthen Grove in Milton Keynes, is scheduled to be sentenced on August 25 at the same court. The case has garnered considerable attention, highlighting the ongoing need for vigilance and support for victims of sexual assault in the Milton Keynes area and beyond.
