COLCHESTER MAN FINED FOR HAVING INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
Benjamin Myatt, a 32-year-old man, stored 13 inappropriate images of minors on his computer, including one that was classified as Category A.
Authorities confiscated his laptop from his residence on Wallaby Way, Stanway, last year.
He appeared before Colchester Magistrates’ Court, where he pleaded guilty to three charges of producing indecent images of children.
The court imposed an 18-month community order with 30 days of rehabilitation, a fine of £500, and ordered him to pay £85 in costs.
Myatt is required to register as a sex offender for five years and must adhere to notification obligations during that time.
The judge acknowledged his remorse, completion of the Stop It Now intervention program, steady employment, and assessed him as having a low likelihood of re-offending.
