BENJAMIN BROOKS FROM LYTHAM SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENSES IN BLACKPOOL
In April 2017, a junior doctor from Blackpool Victoria Hospital, Benjamin Brooks, aged 27 and residing at Nile Close, Lytham Quays, Lytham, was sentenced to 28 months in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges of sexual assault involving young girls.
The court also heard that Brooks was guilty of intimidating a 14-year-old witness during the proceedings.
Preston Crown Court detailed the disturbing series of incidents that led to his conviction.
The first assault occurred on the evening of November 14, when at approximately 8:15 pm, a 10-year-old girl was standing on a street with her 12-year-old friend.
The defendant approached the girls, engaging them by asking their names and ages.
When he offered to walk with them partway up the street, the girls declined, stating they were heading to a nearby shop.
As they moved away, Brooks allegedly grabbed the 10-year-old girl by the chest and asked,
