OXFORD CROWN COURT: PAEDOPHILE JAILED FOR BREACHING ORDERS
A paedophile has been jailed for more than two years after breaching court orders.Ben Vaughan, of HMP The Verne in Dorset, was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on Tuesday, October 21.
Vaughan, 35, appeared via a video link and was not represented.
Judge Ian Pringle KC asked if he wanted representation, to which he replied: "No, it's alright." Vaughan previously pleaded guilty to three counts of breaching a sexual harm prevention order, first imposed by Aylesbury Crown Court in April 2019.
On that occasion, he was sentenced for eight-and-a-half-years for various sexual offences committed against children.
The court heard that Vaughan had been released on licence in 2023 and police had attended his address that December to check his electronic devices.
There was evidence that some of his internet history had been deleted and that he had installed and deleted a social media app called Kik, which he previously used to abuse children.
The court also heard that he used a phone belonging to his girlfriend to watch Anime.
When his phone was examined, 112 internet history entries had been deleted.
Prosecuting barrister Leandra Smith stated: "This was a deliberate breach.
He has a history of disobeying court orders." Judge Pringle told Vaughan that there are no real mitigating factors in this case and sentenced him to 28 months, which will run concurrently with his existing sentence.
