BEN FLYNN FROM DROYLSDEN SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF 12-YEAR-OLD BOY IN MANCHESTER

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Droylsden and the wider Manchester area, Ben Flynn, born on March 8, 1993, has been convicted and sentenced for a series of heinous sexual offences involving a young boy aged just 12. Flynn, who resides on Kings Walk in Droylsden, was brought before Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court where he received a prison term of 13 years. Additionally, he was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for the rest of his life, reflecting the severity of his crimes and the danger he poses to society.

The criminal activities came to light after a series of disturbing events that unfolded over a period of time. The investigation revealed that Flynn had initiated contact with the young boy through social media, specifically by sending a friend request on Facebook in March 2016. Despite having no prior acquaintance or communication, Flynn’s request was accepted by the boy, which marked the beginning of a troubling online relationship.

Following this initial contact, Flynn persistently sent private messages to the boy, exploiting the young age and naivety of his victim. Recognizing the child's vulnerability, Flynn lured him to his home with the promise of allowing him to play on his Playstation. When the boy arrived at Flynn’s residence, the offender engaged in inappropriate conduct, kissing the boy and touching him sexually. Flynn then attempted to take the boy to his bedroom, but the child refused to go further, resisting the advances.

After this initial incident, Flynn’s communication with the boy became increasingly sexualized. He continued to send daily messages, attempting to arrange further meetings. His desperation to satisfy his depraved desires led him to offer to pay for the boy’s bus fare, hoping to entice him into further encounters. The predator’s efforts bore fruit as they met at Flynn’s address on two additional occasions, during which further sexual offences against the child occurred.

The abuse was eventually uncovered when the boy’s sister discovered the messages exchanged between the two. She alerted their mother, which prompted an investigation. During questioning following his arrest, Flynn admitted to sending messages to the young boy, fully aware of his victim’s age and vulnerability.

Flynn pleaded guilty to a comprehensive list of offences, which include two counts of raping a boy under 13, one count of attempting to rape a boy under 13, three counts of sexual assault against a boy under 13, four counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, two counts of causing a child to watch a sexual act, and a breach of a sex offence prevention order. His conviction and sentencing serve as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by online grooming and the importance of vigilance in protecting children from predators.
