BEN D’MELLOW FROM STOCKWOOD BRUTALLY ABUSES 12-YEAR-OLD IN BRISTOL AND ESSEX

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community, Ben D’Mellow, a 29-year-old resident of Fontmell Court in Stockwood, was convicted of multiple heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse of a young girl and the possession of extreme child abuse images. The case unfolded after police investigations revealed D’Mellow’s disturbing online activities and his direct involvement in abusing a vulnerable child.

It was in February 2017 that D’Mellow was sentenced to ten years in prison after admitting to sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl. The court heard that he had engaged in acts of sexual touching, including using his tongue and penis on the young victim. These assaults were described as part of a pattern of sustained abuse over a significant period. D’Mellow also confessed to six counts of sexual activity with a child, further emphasizing the severity of his crimes.

The investigation into D’Mellow’s activities was initiated when police were probing another paedophile with whom he had been communicating. During this inquiry, authorities uncovered D’Mellow’s online conversations, where he openly boasted about abusing a girl aged between eight and ten years old when he was 18. He used an internet messaging service under the alias “Koyo” to connect with other offenders, sharing explicit images and discussing sexual acts involving children. His online exchanges revealed a disturbing fixation on children, with D’Mellow describing and sharing images of young girls he had seen and photographed.

Authorities identified D’Mellow through his online alias and traced his communications back to his residence in Stockwood. The police also discovered a collection of child abuse images on his devices, which he had both possessed and distributed. Among the material found were images depicting children aged between eight and 15 engaged in sexual acts with animals, classified as extreme pornography. These findings led to additional charges, including making indecent images of children, distributing such images, and possessing extreme pornography.

Further details emerged during the court proceedings, where it was revealed that D’Mellow had previously admitted to abusing a girl in Bristol when he was 18, despite living in Essex at the time. The victim was described as highly vulnerable, having been subjected to abuse by someone else earlier in her life. The police’s examination of D’Mellow’s electronic devices confirmed his involvement in the distribution and possession of illegal images, solidifying the case against him.

In a separate hearing in November 2016, D’Mellow faced additional charges related to the sexual abuse of the 12-year-old girl. He admitted to nine sex offences, including touching her private parts with his tongue and penis. He also pleaded guilty to six counts of making indecent images, one count of distributing such images, and possessing extreme pornography involving children and animals. The court was informed that the abuse had left the young girl traumatised and deeply affected her mental health.

Judge Michael Longman, presiding over the case, emphasized the gravity of D’Mellow’s actions, describing the abuse as “regular and sustained over a long period of time.” As a result, he was handed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which restricts his internet usage and access to online content. Additionally, D’Mellow was ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.

Sentencing was initially scheduled for early 2017 but was deferred until February of the following year. D’Mellow appeared via video link from prison, and the court was told that he would remain in custody until the new sentencing date. Prosecutor Ian Fenny highlighted that D’Mellow’s criminal behavior was uncovered only through a detailed investigation into his possession of highly pornographic material, which revealed his disturbing interests and actions. The case underscores the importance of vigilant law enforcement efforts in combating child exploitation and safeguarding vulnerable victims from further harm.
