DUNDEE WOMAN GUILTY OF STALKING AND SENDING EXPLICIT VIDEO
A woman named Bea Burgyan from Mill Street, Kirkcaldy, was involved in a case where she placed a tracking device on her former lover’s car and sent explicit videos to his wife. The Dundee Sheriff Court heard how Burgyan and the man began an affair at their workplace.
After discovering he was married, she sent an email to his wife containing a sex video of him.
She also sent a picture of his home in Dundee after using a tracking device to find out his address.
The court heard that Burgyan and the man exchanged messages, including a video he did not authorize sharing.
She showed the man a picture of a cardboard box with the tracker inside and later emailed his wife with the heading 'your husband,' which included a video of him performing a sex act.
The man stated he was living in constant fear of Burgyan, and police searched her home after she was identified.
Burgyan pled guilty to engaging in a course of conduct causing the man to suffer fear or alarm from November last year to February, including placing the tracker, attending his home, and sending photos of his address.
She also admitted to disclosing a sexual video without consent on February 17.
The court deemed her actions were beyond legal justification, and Sheriff John Rafferty stated, 'What you did here was put a tracking device on some person’s vehicle for no good reason...
His distress and alarm must have been high when he then received photographs of his house.' As a result, she was sentenced to perform 150 hours of unpaid work and was subject to a non-harassment order for 18 months to stay away from the couple.
