BARRY KEEN FROM RICKMANSWORTH JAILED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IN ST ALBANS

In a significant case that has shocked the community of Rickmansworth, Barry Keen, a 57-year-old dentist, was sentenced to nine months in prison after being found guilty of possessing a vast collection of child sexual abuse images.

The sentencing took place at St Albans Crown Court, where Keen was also formally prohibited from practicing dentistry and working with children in the future.

Authorities conducted a detailed raid on Keen’s residence located in Rasehill Close, Loudwater, Rickmansworth, on May 25 of the previous year.

During the operation, police officers seized his computer and discovered an alarming total of 15,630 images and videos depicting child abuse.

Among these, some were classified as Level 5, indicating the most severe and explicit content.

Barry Keen, who is now residing on Devon Road, Luton, appeared before the court to face sentencing after admitting to 18 counts of creating indecent images and 2 counts of possessing such images.

His guilty plea was a crucial factor in the court’s decision to impose a relatively lenient prison term, considering the gravity of the material involved.

In addition to his jail sentence, Keen was subjected to a seven-year Sexual Offences Prevention Order.

This order mandates that he must allow police access to his computer and any other electronic devices, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.

Furthermore, he is permanently banned from working with children, a restriction that will remain in effect indefinitely.

As part of the court’s measures to prevent further offenses, Keen’s computer and CDs were seized and are likely to be examined further.

He is also required to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years, a legal obligation that aims to keep the community informed and protected from potential risks posed by individuals with his criminal history.
