MAPLE CROSS MAN IN COURT OVER SEXUAL ASSAULT AND STRANGULATION CHARGES
A Maple Cross man, Fahim Rahman, of Woodland Road, is scheduled to appear in crown court next week to face multiple serious charges including sexual assault and strangulation.Court documents allege that Rahman committed sexual assault on March 20, 2024, at a time when the victim did not consent and he did not reasonably believe she was consenting.
Additionally, between May 1 and May 31, 2023, he is accused of intentionally strangling the same victim.
He is also facing two allegations of inflicting actual bodily harm and another charge of intentional strangulation between January 1 and January 31, 2023.
Moreover, Rahman is charged with engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour in a family relationship, specifically 'behaviour which was controlling or coercive, namely fear of violence on more than two occasions,' between October 1, 2021, and April 12, 2024.
He has been granted bail with conditions that include not contacting the alleged victim ahead of a plea and trial preparation hearing scheduled at St Albans Crown Court on August 14.
