AURON ALIJE SHAMES WALLSEND LEISURE CENTRE IN DISTURBING INCIDENT
A man named Auron Alije has recently appeared in court facing serious allegations involving inappropriate conduct at a well-known leisure facility in Wallsend. The incident reportedly took place at the Hadrian Leisure Centre, a popular spot for local residents seeking recreation and fitness.According to court documents, Alije, who resides on Belford Close in Battle Hill, Wallsend, North Tyneside, is accused of exposing his erect penis to two young girls aged 12 and 13 while they were in the changing rooms of the leisure centre. The alleged incident is said to have occurred on the 4th of April, 2023, raising questions about the nearly two-year delay before the case reached court proceedings.
At the time of the court appearance, Alije was listed as living at Malvern Road, Wallsend, but as of April 7, 2025, his address was updated to Belford Close, Battle Hill, Wallsend, North Tyneside, NE28 9AU. During the hearing at Newcastle Magistrates' Court, he faced a single charge of outraging public decency. Alije entered a plea of not guilty and limited his responses to confirming his personal details, including his name, date of birth, and current address.
Prosecutor Ruth Forster argued that the case was not suitable for trial in a magistrates' court, suggesting it should be transferred to the Crown Court. She explained, “The Crown would say this isn't suitable for summary trial. There are no sentencing guidelines for this offence, however, the characteristics surrounding this would take it outside of your sentencing powers. The complainants are a 12 and 13-year-old girl, who had been swimming at the Hadrian Leisure Centre.”
Mark Harrison, representing the defendant, concurred with the prosecution’s request, stating that the case should be moved to the Crown Court. As a result, the magistrates declined jurisdiction and formally sent the case to Newcastle Crown Court for further proceedings.
