JEALOUS LOVER ASHLEY HALL BITES EX AND SET DOG ON HER IN SHEFFIELD
A jealous lover who choked his ex and bit her lip before setting his dog on her and her friend will be freed from prison immediately.Ashley Hall, aged 33, had been in a casual relationship with his ex-partner for about six months in May 2020 when he accused her of seeing another man during a gathering at her friend's flat in Sheffield.
The court heard that Hall grabbed his partner around the neck with his arm before her friend witnessed her being bitten on the lip.
Hall’s aggressive behavior persisted as he harassed and intimidated them both to avoid repercussions.
Prosecutor Ian Goldsack described that during the violence, Hall squeezed her throat from behind, causing her to freeze and struggle to breathe for a few seconds.
The victim shouted for help and called her friend, who arrived shortly after and saw her friend with a bite mark.
Hall also pressed his forehead against her face, mumbling in anger, and later bit her lip hard when she turned towards him, then ran outside.
A few days later, on May 29, he threatened her friend at Herdings Park tram stop, saying something would happen to her flat if she didn’t drop charges.
On June 26, Hall’s ex and her friend encountered him again with his Staffordshire Terrier, which jumped at and scratched them, as Hall called the women derogatory names and openly admitted he didn't care about hurting her.
Hall was arrested and charged with assault, intimidation, and threatening behavior.
He admitted the charges and was sentenced to a two-year community order, having already served over six months in prison.
The court disclosed that Hall had 15 prior convictions, including common assault, wounding, and weapons offenses, some involving ex-partners.
He was also given a five-year restraining order prohibiting him from visiting his ex or her friend.
Additionally, Hall must complete 60 hours of unpaid work and 25 rehabilitation days.
Record Jeremy Hill-Baker remarked that Hall should address his relationship issues through face-to-face therapy, especially given his criminal history.
The court condemned his behavior, highlighting how he behaved disgracefully toward his partner, squeezing her throat and biting her lip, and making intimidating remarks following police involvement.
