EDMONTON PAEDOPHILE APEDERAZEK BADRAN SENTENCED FOR BRUTAL RAPE NEAR HACKNEY MARSHES
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community, Apedelrazek Badran, a 20-year-old man from Edmonton, was convicted and sentenced to nine years in prison for the heinous assault of a nine-year-old girl. The incident took place near Hackney Marshes, an area known for its natural beauty and popularity among local families and outdoor enthusiasts.According to reports, the young girl was at the canal bank close to a nearby nature reserve when she was approached by Badran during the lunchtime hours on July 5. He was riding a mountain bike at the time and managed to lure her away from the public eye to a secluded spot. It was there that he committed the assault, an act that has left the young victim deeply traumatized.
Following the attack, Badran threatened the girl, warning her that he would shoot her if she revealed what had happened. However, he did not produce a firearm during the incident. The girl, understandably frightened and distressed, managed to escape and later recounted the ordeal to her family and authorities.
Law enforcement officials quickly launched an investigation into the assault. Nine days after the attack, Badran was arrested at his residence in Edmonton. The arrest was facilitated by a DNA match that linked him to the crime scene. The forensic evidence was particularly compelling, as a DNA sample taken from the scene matched a sample Badran had previously provided to police during an unrelated arrest for theft—a foot pump.
Faced with the evidence, Badran pleaded guilty to the charges against him. His sentencing took place at London’s Snaresbrook Crown Court, where justice was served for the young victim and her family.
Detective Constable Shaun Egan expressed his thoughts on the case, emphasizing the severity of the crime and its impact on the victim. “This was a horrendous attack on a very young girl who is still traumatised by what has happened to her,” he stated. “She is wary of men, doesn’t leave her house much, and keeps crying. I have no doubt that Badran went out that day looking for a victim to rape. He led the girl to a very secluded area, and I believe he had already chosen that spot and pre-planned how he would entice her there. I am sure he would have struck again had he not been caught, and I’m relieved that he is now behind bars.”
The case has raised concerns about safety near popular outdoor areas like Hackney Marshes and highlights the importance of vigilance in protecting vulnerable children from predators lurking in the community.
