ANTHONY JOHNSON OF HAVERHILL ESCAPES PRISON AFTER OFFENSE INVOLVING CHILD INDECENT IMAGES
In May 2014, a man from Haverhill who was found to have more than 2,500 indecent images of children on his computer avoided a prison sentence.
Anthony Johnson, residing on Chestnut Close in Haverhill, was arrested following an operation conducted by the National Crime Agency (NCA) in October of the previous year.
The 41-year-old pleaded guilty in April to four counts of creating indecent images at West Suffolk Magistrates Court.
Subsequently, on May 8, he was sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court.
Judge Peter Jacobs handed Johnson a three-year community order, along with the requirement to register as a sex offender for five years and to participate in an internet sex offender treatment program.
The NCA's operation involved executing search warrants across multiple counties, including Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk.
