ANTHONY BULLEY SENTENCED TO TEN YEARS FOR SEX OFFENCES AT AMERSHAM SPECIAL SCHOOL
In a case that has shocked the community of Amersham, Anthony Lawrence Bulley, aged 39, was sentenced on Monday to a decade behind bars for a series of heinous sex offences committed against young boys while serving as the head of care at Stony Dean School, located on Orchard End Avenue, Pineapple Road.Bulley, who was employed at the specialized educational institution, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including the rape of two boys and numerous other child sex offences. The court heard that Bulley used manipulative tactics to lure vulnerable children into his flat, engaging them in conversations about trophies and girlfriends as a means of gaining their trust.
Prosecutor Christopher Donnellan detailed how Bulley enticed one of the boys with sweets before assaulting him on his bed, subsequently giving the child out-of-date chocolate as a disturbing gesture. The court was also informed that Bulley had a history of similar allegations dating back to 1993, when he was working at another school under the alias Nigel Bulley. Although a case was brought against him in 2002, it was ultimately dismissed due to insufficient police evidence.
The investigation into Bulley's activities resumed in January of this year after a new victim came forward, revealing that he had been raped at Amersham. Following a comprehensive police inquiry, a total of 17 charges were filed against Bulley, involving seven different victims. These charges included sexual assault and rape, reflecting a pattern of predatory behavior.
Bulley ultimately admitted to six of these charges, which involved four boys, and was subsequently sentenced to ten years in prison. The case has left a lasting impact on the community and highlights the importance of vigilance and thorough investigation in cases of child abuse.
