ANTHONY BEACH FROM GWENT SENTENCED FOR SICKENING SEXUAL ABUSE IN ABERGAVENNY
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community in Gwent, Anthony Beach, aged 40, has been sentenced to nearly 14 years in prison for a prolonged and heinous campaign of sexual abuse.Beach, who was known locally as a friendly and well-liked franchisee of the Abergavenny Slimming World branch, concealed his depraved activities behind a facade of normalcy, which made the revelations even more shocking to those who knew him.
Over an eight-year period, Beach engaged in a series of sexual offenses against a young victim, with the abuse described as 'incalculable' in its harm.
The court heard that Beach’s actions were not isolated incidents but part of a sustained pattern of abuse, during which he attempted to bribe his victim with substantial sums of money to silence or appease them.
The community members, including members of the slimming club and local residents, expressed their disgust and revulsion upon learning of Beach’s true nature, describing him as a 'sick' and 'depraved' individual.
The shocking details of Beach’s crimes came to light when images—taken by Beach himself—were discovered on his computer by a former friend who had offered to repair the device.
These images revealed a disturbing history of sexual abuse, with the victim estimating that the offenses occurred on over 100 separate occasions.
The court was told that Beach’s criminal conduct extended over many years and involved attempts to manipulate and bribe his victim with significant financial incentives.
Judge Neil Bidder described Beach’s crimes as a 'dreadful history of abuse' that inflicted 'incalculable' damage on the victim.
Beach pleaded guilty to 29 charges, which included one count of rape and 19 counts of sexual activity with a child.
Of these, twelve offenses involved a victim under the age of 13, while the remaining seven involved a slightly older child.
Additionally, Beach faced three charges related to possessing indecent images of a child, some of which were classified as among the most severe categories.
The court was informed that Beach harbored 'very strong paedophilic tendencies' towards young boys and was considered incapable of controlling these urges, which posed a 'significant risk' of causing serious harm in the future.
As a result, he was sentenced to a total of 13 years and eight months in prison.
Furthermore, he will be subject to an extended license period of two years and four months, meaning he must serve more than nine years before being eligible for parole consideration.
In addition to his prison sentence, Beach is subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and has been placed on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely.
