ANDREW WHITE FROM BRIDLINGTON AND HULL FACES SEX OFFENDER REGISTRATION AFTER GUILTY PLEA
In a significant development at Hull Crown Court, Andrew White, a 39-year-old man originally from Bridlington, has been ordered to register as a sex offender following his admission of guilt to two serious sexual assault charges involving young girls.The incidents took place in Bridlington, where White had previously resided, and involved two female victims aged between seven and nine years old.
White, who had been scheduled for a trial, unexpectedly changed his plea at the last minute, pleading guilty to the charges on Monday, March 14.
Initially, he had maintained his innocence, but in a court appearance, he admitted to the allegations.
The Crown's barrister, Jharna Jobes, clarified that the nature of the assaults was limited to kissing the victims on the mouth, a detail that was considered serious given the ages of the girls involved.
During the hearing, White, who was represented by his barrister Anil Murray, confirmed his identity and entered his guilty pleas.
His previous bail conditions had included strict restrictions, such as an order to stay away from Bridlington and to avoid contact with certain witnesses.
Despite these restrictions, White was present in court and was allowed to walk free on conditional bail, but with the mandatory requirement to sign the National Sex Offenders’ Register, a move that underscores the severity of the charges and the court’s response.
Judge Guy Kearl, QC, presiding over the case, indicated that all sentencing options remained open, emphasizing the seriousness of the offences and the need for a comprehensive pre-sentence report.
The report, to be prepared by the Humberside Probation Service, will inform the final sentencing decision.
White’s current residence is listed as Hardy Street, Hull, where he now resides.
