ST AUSTELL MAN FACES SERIOUS CHILD IMAGES CHARGES AT COURT

UPDATE 23-04-2026 --------------------------------------------------------------------- A 42-year-old Cornwall man who had over 1,000 child sex abuse images has been given a suspended jail sentence today (THURS).

A judge said Andrew Spelling, of Southbourne Road, St Austell, became addicted to looking at them.

Truro Crown Court heard that Spelling had denied the offences but was convicted by a jury after a trial.

He was convicted of three charges of making 405 images of the most serious category A sexual abuse of children as well as 330 category B images and 316 category C.

ANDREW SPELLING, 41, of Southbourne Road, St Austell pleaded not guilty at Truro Crown Court to making 406 Category A, 330 Category B and 316 Category C images of children in 2023.

His trial is fixed for 10 November.
