PERTHSHIRE PAEDOPHILE HAD TRUNK FILLED WITH SCHOOL PHOTO ALBUMS
A Perthshire paedophile who boasted online about his desire to rape babies kept a sinister metal trunk filled with handmade school photo albums, a court has heard.Prosecutors said the box seized from Andrew Kenton’s house near Pitlochry contained so much child sexual abuse material they could not put a number on it.
Perth Sheriff Court was told there were handwritten notes against many children’s images.
Cybercrime experts found thousands of vile images and over 12 hours of video on his phone and SD cards, including images of young girls from a TV quiz show.
Kenton, 50, pled guilty to taking or permitting the taking of indecent photos of children over a near-14-year period and possession of such images.
He has been placed on the sex offenders register and will be sentenced later this year.
Police raided his home in December 2024 following a confidential tip-off.
During the search, officers seized a mobile phone, three SD cards, and a trunk.
Analysis revealed nearly 4,600 child sex abuse files, including 4,163 still images and 422 videos, ranging from category A to C, mostly involving female children between ages 1 and 15, some depicting scenes of sadism and sexual activity with adults.
Discussions online involved child rape, sex acts with minors, and requesting pictures of a user's young relative.
The trunk contained magazines, newspaper cuttings, homemade photo albums, and camera photos, all collected for sexual gratification.
Kenton pled guilty and has no prior convictions.
He suffers from cognitive impairment due to a brain injury from a 1987 road crash and has engaged with the Stop It Now rehabilitation program.
Sentencing was postponed for a psychological report.
